Djokovic’s Choice Of Racquet Is The Perfect Stocking Stuffer For Your Tennis Player

Novak Djokovic really improved his game this year and become the World’s No. 1 Player.

How did he do it you might ask. Practice? Conditioning?

Why play with a new and improved racquet, of course.

Djokovic played 2011 with the second generation HEAD YouTek Speed racquet in his hand. Something that may have helped give him the edge.

“The name is Speed, and the racquet gives me a lot of speed in this aggressive game,” Djokovic said. We have been working hard on the racquet in order to improve it as much as possible.”

HEAD’s YouTek™ concept aims to provide tennis players with the perfect racquets for their individual game. The new YouTek™ IG Speed is specially designed for the needs of players like Novak Djokovic. Innegra™ promises to bring racquet innovation to another level. Extremely tough and light, Innegra™ has the lowest density of any existing fiber and, combined with carbon fiber, forms an ultra-tough hybrid-composite structure. The result: improved stability and increased shock absorption. Racquet vibration from ball impact is reduced by up to 17 percent, yielding unmatched control and precision.

There are five different YouTek 300 racquets out on the market for various types of performance.

YouTek IG Speed MP: The Speed MP is the perfect combination of power and control for heavy hitters with a long fast swing style. It is available in three models, accommodating a wide range of players. You’ll never want to put this racquet down!

– YouTek IG Speed MP 18/20 ($199.95): The MP 18/20 is Novak Djokovic’s Weapon of Choice

– YouTek IG Speed MP 16/19 ($199.95): The MP 16/19 has a more open string pattern and a slightly longer length for added reach.

– YouTek IG Speed 300 ($199.95): The MP 300 is a slightly more powerful version with added maneuverability

YouTek IG Speed Elite ($189.95): A Tour Light version providing complete tour performance with greater maneuverability. The slightly wider beam gives it even more power.

YouTek IG Speed Lite ($189.95): This is the lightest racquet in the Speed series. A great tweener providing the perfect combination of power, manoeuvrability, control and feel. It’s the excellent tour racquet for players with a moderate swing style.

The racquets are available at all major retail locations. Pick one up for your tennis pro.

Prince Extends Partnership with World’s No. 2 and Top-Ranked Russian Tennis Player Vera Zvonareva

January 26, 2011 – Bordentown, NJ – Prince, global tennis equipment leader and master of the physics and design of tennis weaponry, is proud to officially announce the extended equipment partnership with the current No. 2 ranked woman in the world, and top-ranked Russian player, Vera Zvonareva.

Zvonareva made the switch to her current weapon of choice, the Prince EXO3 Black, early last year and subsequently enjoyed the best year of her career. After picking up the racquet, she went on to reach her first-ever Grand Slam finals (Wimbledon and US Open) and shot up the rankings from No.7 to No. 2 – a career high.

As Zvonareva heads into the semifinals of her third straight Grand Slam quarterfinal this week at the Australian Open, she is well aware that EXO3 technology has played an integral role in her improved play.

“I picked up the EXO3 Black early last year and immediately knew it was something special. Hi-speed video shows that pros frequently hit the ball out of the direct center of the string bed, as do players at other levels. The sport at our level is played at such a fast pace and along the smallest margins and with less reaction time that it is unavoidable,” said Zvonareva. “For me, EXO3 technology allows me to do more with every ball, even those that I hit on the run or at full stretch – and those few shots can often be the difference between winning and losing. I have a lot more wins since picking up this technology.”

What is EXO3 Racquet Technology?

EXO3 is a high-tech, patented racquet design, which utilizes large holes and String Suspension Inserts to deliver a superior, effective hitting area compared to competitor racquets with the same head size. The strings in an EXO3 racquet are completely liberated
from restrictive, response-strangling grommets, allowing the strings to respond more freely – even at the outer edges of the string plane for balls hit off-center. This technology delivers a larger, more consistent hitting area – at ANY head size – giving players at all levels the advantage of hitting better shots, more often because even balls hit off center feel and respond more as though they were hit in the center of the string bed.

A New Look for Rafa’s Weapon

Boulder, Colorado – January 19, 2010 – Babolat, leading manufacturer of tennis racquets, announces the launch of the new generation of Aero racquets enhanced with Graphite Tungsten (GT) technology. The graphite and tungsten combination improves the racquet’s construction without altering the Aero’s key benefits—spin, power and speed—and reduces torque to give the Aero range maximum stability during ball impact.

Originally designed for champion Rafael Nadal’s (#2 ATP) game, the Babolat Aeropro Drive has quickly become one of the hottest selling racquets in the U.S. and one of Babolat’s best sellers worldwide. The racquet generates a faster swing, more topspin and a great balance of power and control, well suited for Nadal’s game. Jo-Wilfried Tsonga (#10 ATP) has recently been won over by the Aeropro Drive model: he will have his first Grand Slam rallies as a part of Team Babolat at the Australian Open (January 18-24), new Aeropro Drive in hand!

At Babolat, competition remains the best laboratory for testing the products of tomorrow. Over the years, numerous racquets have become weapons for an entire generation of champions. The Aero line is the result of Babolat’s desire to be an “engine” of the game.

The Aeropro Drive is the weapon of choice for Rafael Nadal, Jo-Wilfried Tsonga and Caroline Wozniacki (#4 WTA), while the Aero Storm is Dinara Safina’s (#2 WTA). Each model in the Aero line is born from the performances of competition players and evolves from their influence, from their advice and from their demands of the game. In order to respond to the expectations of these target players with wide-ranging games, the Aero line offers several racquet models: for each player, his/her own “weapon” (Aeropro Team, Aeropro Lite, etc.)!

The Aero range integrates not one, but several technologies. GT technology, a hybrid material combining braided carbon and tungsten filaments, reduces torque at impact: hits are therefore more powerful, but also more precise. Next, the Cortex System technology, situated between the handle and the string bed, filters vibrations that interfere with ball feel. The unique Aero frame simulates the aerodynamics of an airplane wing to minimize drag through the air for a faster swing and increased hitting power.

The Aero range design will not disappoint Babolat fans. Surprising, innovative, polished and asymmetrical, the design of the new Aero racquets fully reflects the technology of the products and the spirit of the Babolat brand. The 2010 Aero line also has an all-new look, still keeping the emblematic black and yellow colors.

A customized performance booster, GT technology combines braided carbon fibers and tungsten filaments which are integrated throughout the entire racquet. This improves the racquet’s overall construction and strengthens the frame to reduce torque for more precision. Adding tungsten also provides 10% additional energy recovery for even more power. This is all done without altering the racquet’s feel. GT technology can be found in all new Aero models.
